EMPLOYMENT WITH COMMON GROUND SANCTUARY

Following is a summary of staff positions at Common Ground Sanctuary. Please note this is not a list of open positions; rather, it is a list of the types of positions that make up our staff.

All employment openings are posted in the lobby of our Administrative Office.

If you would like us to keep your resume on file in the event of a future opening, we will keep a copy on file for one year. Additionally, individuals may stop at the Administrative Office to complete an application for employment. Employment may be full-time, part-time or contingent.

COUNSELORS

Crisis Line Counselors
Provide counseling, information and referrals to callers. Also provide some short-term counseling and periodic support groups. Minimum qualifications include BA degree in human services field and previous crisis telephone experience.

Primary Family Counselors
This includes family, group and individual counseling, treatment planning, consultation, aftercare and follow-up referrals. Masters degree in a human service field with two years pertinent experience are required.

Family Support Counselors
This includes family, group and individual counseling, treatment planning, consultation, aftercare and follow-up referrals. Bachelors degree in a human service field with two years pertinent experience are required.

Transitional Specialists
Assist in planning, evaluating and providing direct services at our A Step Forward transitional living shelter to help homeless youths develop skills, confidence and means to become self-sufficient. Bachelors degree in a human service field required.

VICTIM ADVOCATES

Victim Advocates
Responsible for coordination of the Workplace Violence Program or Death Notification Services including direct service, support groups, training and supervision of staff and volunteers, liaison with relevant police departments, community and agency groups and coordination of project evaluation. Minimum qualifications: bachelors degree in a human service field or equivalent experience with experience in crisis intervention or mental health services.

CLINICAL PROFESSIONALS

RN Screeners
Provide psychiatric screening and assessment for adults, children and adolescents. Minimum qualifications: associate degree; previous experience in a psychiatric facility preferred. Screeners
Provides psychiatric screening and assessment for adults, children and adolescents. Minimum qualification: masters degree in human services field; previous experience in a psychiatric facility preferred.

Psychiatric Nurses
Provide short-term psychiatric inpatient care for adults. Minimum qualification is an associate degree; previous experience in a psychiatric facility preferred.

Social Workers
Provide short-term psychiatric inpatient care for adults. Minimum qualification is a masters of social work degree; previous experience in a psychiatric facility preferred.

Mental Health Technicians
Provide psychiatric inpatient and outpatient care. Minimum qualification is an associate degree in a human services field. Bachelors-level technicians are also utilized and required in some positions. Previous experience in a psychiatric facility preferred.

Art Therapists
Provide a form of psychotherapy and activities such as group and individual art projects, psycho-dramatic role-plays and therapeutic recreation which utilize psycho dynamic experiential assessments and interventions in the service of helping individuals to regain, develop and attain identified levels of functioning. Master's degree in art therapy required.
